We’re dedicated to supporting our yogis throughout their authentic, life-long journey of practicing and sharing yoga with others. Our intention is to teach yogic traditions with a contemporary emphasis on living a present, balanced and self-actualized life. How do we do this? By helping our aspiring yoga teachers establish a strong foundation of knowledge and guiding them to find their own unique expression as an instructor. Longwave Yoga Teacher Training celebrates and encourages the imagination and boundless creativity of our trainees. To us, teaching yoga is an art and a science.
This unique program is a 200-hour comprehensive teacher training recognized by Yoga Alliance, the standard-setting organization for yoga teachers and studios internationally. We are inspired to educate teachers through genuine experience and honest guidance, steeped in inquiry, observation, and a true integration of experiential learning. Longwave’s teacher training will prepare you to teach full spectrum Vinyasa flow classes that focus on creativity and mindfulness. After receiving the certification, you will be qualified to register with the nationally accredited Yoga Alliance.

Applicants should have a minimum six months of dedicated practice, preferably a year of regular yoga practice either in a studio, home, or both. Each format will include observation, assisting, reading, journaling, (self-study), a home practice, a karma project and ‘Om’work. Upon graduation, there will be a written final exam and practical teaching exam. More details will be provided for training requirements once you’ve been accepted. In addition to completing the application below, please submit a letter of recommendation preferably from a teacher, coach, or a yoga teacher you have worked with for a significant period of time.
Please have your letter of recommendation answer the following questions:
1. How do you know the applicant and for how long?
2. How would you describe the applicant’s personality?
3. What characteristics does the applicant possess that you think would make a good teacher and guide in a transformational practice such as yoga?
4. Describe applicant’s strong suits and areas for growth.

Attendance and Refund Policy
Attendance is required; you will be allowed to make up coursework at an hourly cost or as discussed with the lead teacher. Refunds are not available once the program has started. We will offer a 50% refund only if the refund is requested 3 weeks prior to the program start date. Deposit is non-refundable.

Teacher Tune Up:
The Teacher Tune-up supports those who have priorly completed a teacher training program at the 200-hour level or higher. This program is experiential learning designed for those who desire to cultivate clarity in their teaching. This continued education will develop precision, purpose, and confidence in teaching and practicing yoga. Materials covered include yogic philosophy, asana alignment, hands-on assisting, pranayama, meditation, anatomy and physiology, subtle energetic anatomy, sequencing, and instructing yoga classes. The Teacher Tune-up allows one to identify the needed areas of additional practice and study, and to participate over the course of our annual teacher training program in a highly mentored workshop setting. CEU's are also available on this path.
Feb 21-23: The eight limbed path, Standing poses, Hip opening poses, and balancing poses asana labs, Sequencing, Practice teaching and teaching method
March 20-22: Subtle Body, Back bending poses and twisting poses asana labs, Ayurveda.
April 24-26: Kirtan, Bhakti, The Bhagavad Gita, Forward Bending asana lab, Creating the Bhav, Intro into the art of assisting.
May 22-24: Mudras, Biz of Yoga, Private Clients, Special populations, Prenatal modifications, Inversion and arm balance asana lab.
